Tramore Parish Radio Services are broadcast from Holy Cross Church, Tramore at 10.am from Monday to Sat and 10.30am on Sunday on your radio 105.4FM. (It may be tuned in only when service is on.

Please be aware that for the protection and security of all, CCTV Cameras are in operation in Holy Cross Church. All Masses are live streamed and broadcast over the internet.

We strongly recommended, that parishioners continue to wear face covering and sanitise their hands upon entry and leaving the church.

Weekly Contributions Envelopes

The new envelopes for 2022/2023 (Beginning May 1st) are now available at the Parish Office for collection.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CURRENT NUMBER WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARE COLLECTING YOUR BOX OF ENVELOPES.
When the new contribution year begins on May 1st, please discard any unused 2021/2022 envelopes.
Any parishioner who is not registered for the weekly contribution envelopes, and would like to be, please contact the Parish Office.

Sincere thanks to all who contributed so generously to the collection for Ukraine which was taken up last weekend. €6510 was collected in the Parish of Tramore & Carbally.

 

Holy Communion for the Sick & Housebound
If there are any parishioners who are sick or housebound and who would like to receive Holy Communion on First Fridays or Sundays, some of our Eucharistic Ministers are happy to help with this. Please contact the parish office (051 386477) if you wish to request a visit.

 

Holy Cross Church Choir
To enable the Choir to resume its Place in the Church Services some New Members are required.

Trócaire boxes are available in the porch
Please take home a Trócaire box for Lent and give it a prominent place somewhere in the home.

 

Church Monthly Cleaning

Church monthly cleaning will take place after 10am Mass on Wednesday next 6th April.

Reflection for the 5th Sunday of Lent

More than forgiveness

This is a powerful story of justice and mercy. Jesus is on the side of the woman who has been accused of sin and crime. It was an unjust accusation, and the people who brought her had little good in mind.
Jesus offers more than forgiveness – he brings mercy. Mercy forgives with compassion and doesn’t need lectures. It restores dignity to the victims of injustice like the lady in this story. It is the same in Jesus, for those who do not receive their dignity because of something they are, or something they did and are unjustly treated.
Jesus did not condemn; he turns the tables a bit. He simply says: Anyone here without sin – take the stone and throw it. Nobody does. In this atmosphere of darkness we need to hear something of the love and the mercy of God. Would light of mercy come into their darkness of condemnation? Would they leave their darkness into a personal space where they might have a change of heart?
This is also about the challenge to live honestly and without sin; and to be able to takes steps like this woman’s life, to move on. All hear this word from Jesus – I do not condemn you. This comes to our society and to ourselves. We need to hear this word for ourselves as often we throw stones at ourselves more than at others. What we condemn in others is what sometimes we do not like in ourselves.
Lord may we enter this world of mercy wherever we need to.
May we hear these words always, ‘I do not condemn you’
